Animal of the week ( It’s back )
When I started my animal blog I had the idea of doing animal of the week. I talk about an animal of my choice every week. It slowed down over the summer holls but it’s back and better than ever.
Here is my first animal of the week.
The elephant seal. These seals live in the antarctic. The Females and babies look like any other seal but the male’s are the ones who give the name elephant seal away. The males are a lot bigger than the rest and they can also weigh up to 5 tons, but the most distinguishing feature about these seals are their noses. They are more like a miniature trunk than a nose. Their are about a dosen males in one big group and each of them have their own little groups called hareems they are called alpha males or beach masters. In their hareems they have their own females that only them can mate with. When another male comes to challenge the beach master there is a stand off between the two males and it ends with one beach mastern of his hareem .They also use their noses to make a sound to warn off other males.
It somtimes ends up with broken bones and blood pouring down their faces.
